Do you have itchy skin bumps or skin rash on Vagina? As you know, itchy skin bumps are very annoying, distracting and irritating. Getting itchy skin bumps on Vagina will be much more annoying. However, if you have enough knowledge about this kind of disease, it will be not so hard for treatment. In this article, I will help you to identify the reasons that cause itchy bumps on Vagina; symptoms and treatments.

Firstly, I would like to mention about the skin bumps on Vagina caused by Pimples or Acne: Acne that forms on or around the vagina are typically caused by a reaction or irritation from underwear, feminine douche or soaps. Sometimes acne can form from shaving the vaginal area as it opens and potentially exposes the area to the clogging of pores. Infrequent showering can also cause vaginal irritation. Because of the myriad of sexually transmitted diseases in the world today it is important to closely monitor any irritations in the vaginal area and to seek medical attention if anything seems out of the ordinary. There are some normal kinds of Acne like Blackheads, Whiteheads, Papules, Pustules, Nodules, or Cysts. So, How to cure bumps on Vagina that caused by Pimples or Acne? Dermatologists often have ways of lessening swelling and preventing scarring, such as administering a cortisone shot or by using a plethora of creams, cleansers and lotions. Overall the best cure for acne is regularly cleansing and finding the right facial soaps to keep your skin balancing by identifying whether you have oily, regular or dry skin.

Secondly, the skin bumps on vagina may be caused by Psoriasis: Scaly silvery-white skin bumps on the face (often accompanied by redness) that itch could be psoriasis of the face. Psoriasis is often found on the elbows and knees but can also occur on the vagina, causing itching and flaking and sometimes pain. So, how to cure Psoriasis? Psoriasis cannot be fully cured as it is a reoccurring disease that is chronic in nature. Psoriasis can go into a remission-like phase but reemerges during certain periods thought by many to be induced by excessive stress, alcohol intake or excessive dry skin conditions. Treatments for psoriasis range from cortisone cream to prescription topical ointments typically with a zinc oxide base. Laser treatment is expensive but about 50% effective although can have side effects. Many homeopathic remedies exist that focus on fixing vitamin deficiencies typically found in psoriasis sufferers. Dead sea salt treatments have been said to accelerate the healing process for psoriasis sufferers, however the frequency and quantity of sea salt needed for psoriasis healing baths can become quite expensive.

Thirdly, sometimes we may get skin bumps on Vagina caused by Eczema: Red itchy skin bumps on the Vagina that secrete a clear fluid when scratched to the point of breaking the skin may be an indication that you have eczema. While there is no permanent cure for eczema you can treat eczema with a change in diet, moisturizing treatments with baths and lotions, and reduction of stress over time. It is very important not to scratch your eczema as it is very itchy and it will spread if any of the blister-like bumps are popped open.

Finally, You may think about skin bumps on Vagina caused by Allergies: It is common to experience itchy skin bumps in reaction to allergies from underwear, shaving cream and feminine care products used on the Vagina. It is a good idea that at the first sign of skin irritation that you discontinue use of one product at a time to help troubleshoot the cause of the skin allergy. In addition because of the numerous sexually transmitted diseases that present themselves as something that could be misconstrued as caused by an allergy, it is important to seek medical consult. Skin allergies are generally not life threatening and can often be reduced or cured by identifying and avoiding the allergy, showering to cleanse the area and drinking plenty of water. This will help to cleanse the outside and the inside while avoiding reaggitation of the skin allergy.

    • ANSWER:
      Hi There

Here are some ideas on how to help her get healed.

      Cause
1.Cleansing the Skin: The skin is a very important part of the body; it is an "extra kidney," an extra set of lungs for breathing, and has many other functions. We should keep it in a good condition, important as it is, but we usually treat it shamefully. Cleanliness is next to Godliness, and the skin should be bathed daily. This does not mean to use soap with each bathing, unless it is a natural type biodegradable liquid soap. Nearly all bar soaps do more damage to the skin than they aid it, by leaving residue of the soap to clog the pores. The pores are the doors and windows of the temple and must be kept open to let in oxygen (the breath of life) and to excrete toxins and waste.

2.Diet and Use of Natural Fibers: A person who uses lots of mucus foods has a gluey, sticky type perspiration. When this individual sweats and the body is not cleaned regularly, the dried sweat clogs the pores. This is a beginning cause of dermatitis, or skin malfunction. In addition, as a nation we have fallen in love with easy to wash and iron synthetic clothes. These rob the body of the breath of life because manmade synthetic fibers do not "breathe." Only natural fibers such as cotton, wool, linen, silk, etc., can allow the skin to breathe properly.

3.Diet: These are two of our big problems; the third one is a diet devoid of wholesome foods. We use man's prepared materials, called food, that have been contaminated and processed, and in so many cases, should be classified as "junk food." All aids to fighting dermatitis work better and faster if we consider the first three things mentioned--bathe regularly, return to natural fibers to wear, and eat wholesome foods

      Herbal Aids

1.Dr. Christopher's Bone, Flesh and Cartilage: (BF&C) For the most severe cases of skin diseases in the advanced stage, use a combination we have called Bone, Flesh and Cartilage combination, internally and externally. Repeat procedure. Make the tea, soak flannel, cotton, or any white material other than synthetic--never use synthetic--wrap fomentation (soaked cloth) around the malfunctioning area and cover with plastic or wax paper, leave on all night six days a week and for as many weeks as needed until relief appears. Then continue a week or two for severe cases. Drink one fourth cup of finished concentrated tea with three fourths cup of distilled water three times or more each day.

2.Dr. Christopher's Chickweed Ointment: This is made of chickweed herb and bees wax and oils. Excellent for eczema and/or other skin infections, sores, burning, itchy skin or genitals, swollen testes, acne, hives, also for ulceration of mouth and throat. This is a wonderful healing ointment.

3.Plantain: For skin diseases that result in scrofula or eczema, use the tea internally as a blood cleanser and use the strong tea externally as a wash. If the skin is not oily, you can use the ointment topically to affected areas.

4.Juices for Eczema: Carrot & cucumber.

5.Cabbage Leaves: Cabbage leaves applied to an infected wound, ulcer, or oozing eczema should be layered like roof shingles, allowing secretions to drain between the layers.

6.Tarragon: Soothing for eczema and scurvy.

7.Dr. Christopher's Healing Ointment: (CMM) Made of comfrey, marshmallow, marigold, bee's wax, and oils, this is an antiseptic to be used on lesions, eczema (dry), poison ivy, soothes inflamed surfaces, abrasions, burns, hemorrhoids, for bruises and swellings. Good to have on hand at all times.

      Testimonials
1.BF&C cures skin problem worse than eczema: One day a lady came into my office in a frantic state of near hysteria. She told me that her fourteen-year-old daughter was at home and some neighbor ladies were with her, to keep her from doing harm to herself. That morning the mother had stopped her daughter from committing suicide. The girl, for several years, had a severe dermatitis that had baffled the family physician, dermatologists and allergy specialists. The skin problem was from the knees down to her feet, the arms from elbows down over the hands, and her neck and face were also covered with this dermatitis condition. The dermatologists said it was different from pityriasis, psoriasis, eczema, etc., and had no name for this thick, heavy scaling from which the girl was suffering. This young girl had become a recluse, refusing to go to school, church, parties, etc., and because of this terrible condition which was called "incurable" she was eating herself into an extremely oversized individual. The despair she was suffering was pushing her into a suicidal frame of mind.

I had never had such a case presented to me before and my "back was up against the wall." This was an emergency and I did not have the time to sit in a laboratory and figure out a combination to try on her. I offered a quick silent prayer for help and a formula came immediately to my mind. As it came I had the lady and her companion write it down. I told them to go to an herb shop or health food store and get the various herbs, mix them, and make a fomentation. She was to foment the legs, arms, neck and face areas, and also to have the daughter drink some of the tea. I felt confident enough to promise good results!

It was on a Tuesday morning that the mother had come to see me. On Friday the report came back that the scabs and scales had left the afflicted areas and the girl's skin had a good "healing glow" to it. The next message I received was six months later. The girl was now a choir leader at the school she had returned to, and she was again busy in church and social activities.

This particular group of herbs is one we called "bone, flesh and cartilage" formula. We found it would do many things besides skin problems.

2.Cabbage Leaves: A watchmaker suffered for a year with a painful eczema of both hands, preventing him from working. The lesions were acutely inflamed, and the fingernails were separating, about to fall off. Applications of cabbage leaves twice daily for a few days brought relief from pain, as clear fluid drained onto the dressing. With continued treatment healing took place within two months.

3.Newborn Cured of Eczema: At one of Dr. Christopher's lectures, a woman brought a bundle to the front, a little baby all wrapped up. She unwrapped the bundle, and as she did, eczema scalings flew up all around dusted Dr. Christopher's dark suit. The baby was simply covered with eczema; he described it as horrible to see. The family had adopted the baby six months previous, and it was entirely covered with the scaling, evidently from birth. The family had employed their usual doctor, a pediatrician, and a skin specialist, but no one could do a thing for the little sufferer.

Dr. Christopher told the mother to fill a bassinet with warm Chickweed tea and to bathe the baby, pouring the tea over the head that could not be submerged. The mother was also to give Chickweed tea internally, in small amounts.

Within just a matter of days, the baby began to improve, and after a week or two, the eczema disappeared completely, though the child had suffered with it so many months.

Best of health to both of you

      Cheers

  8. QUESTION:
How do you get rid of bags under your eyes?
Please help, ive just noticed that theyre gettin really black. Why?

    • ANSWER:
Puffiness and under-eye bags: Why they occur and what you can do.
      From webMd.com
The problems with eye bags usually start small. You may notice a barely visible "pillow" of puffiness just below the lower lid. If you leave it untreated, it can billow out further. Then, over time, it gives way to a full-blown bag.
But how and why does the puffiness start? One cause, experts say, is the natural aging process. "There is a certain amount of fat naturally in the under-eye area,". "It's held in place by ligaments. As you age, the ligaments get weaker, allowing the fat to push forward, forming that little puffy pillow under your eye." As time goes on, the puff gets bigger, Then skin loses elasticity, allowing the formation of those loose wads of skin we call "bags." How soon that happens, however, depends a lot on how many bags Mom and Dad had -- and when their problems began.
"A lot of it has to do with heredity,". "It can be a structural, anatomic, genetic issue that simply causes some people to develop this problem sooner than others."
But it's not just heredity. Lifestyle factors matter too. Do you consistently cheat yourself of sleep? Do you eat a lot of salty food snacks and retain a lot of water? Are you getting enough exercise? all these things can cause bags to form a lot sooner.
Sometimes, a chronic sinus condition or a nasal allergy can result in under-eye puffiness. The continual swelling and deflating that goes on can contribute to loose skin and eventually bags. So, if you find yourself with a stuffy nose, pain over the brow or cheek bone, or watery, itchy eyes at the same time your eyes look the puffiest, it's important to see an allergist. "Sometimes the puffiness can be substantially reduced once you treat the underlying allergy or sinus condition,"
What also may help is using an extra pillow when you sleep, or a wedge that props your head up higher. "This can help create some drainage," "And that might make the eyes look less puffy in the mornings."
      Under-eye bags: Treatment options
Folklore is filled with temporary fixes for puffy eyes. One of the most popular treatments -- covering the puffy area with frozen tea bags, cucumber slices, potatoes’ slices or the back of an ice-cold spoon -- may actually provide some temporary relief. "In all these instances," "it's really the cold that is working. It's temporarily taking down the swelling."
Dermatologist Audry Kunin, MD writes in her book The DERMAdoctor Skinstruction Manual that green tea bags may work particularly well. That's because they contain a natural anti-inflammatory chemical known as EGCG, which, she says, can reduce fluid build-up that contributes to puffiness.
Make-up artist and bestselling beauty author Michael Maron says there is also some truth to the rumors that the hemorrhoid treatments Preparation H can help deflate under-eye bags. "It helps tighten and smooth skin on a very temporary basis," he says. "But be certain to use only the cream form, not the oil form, which can make the bags look worse."
Doctors agrees that Preparation H can be a temporary fix. But, use it with caution. "You don't want to get this into your eyes," "So be very careful when you apply it."If you're looking for a temporary fix that lasts a bit longer, experts say the new injectable wrinkle fillers, such as Restylane or Juvederm, can help.
"The filler is injected just under the puffy area to even out the look and remove the indentation caused by the puff," Antell says. "And then, frequently, Botox is used to smooth out the lines. The overall effect is a younger looking eye." Although it can work for early stage puffiness and bags, Antell says the result lasts only about 8 or 9 months before it has to be repeated -- costing up to a couple thousand dollars each time.

  9. QUESTION:
    How to treat external hemorrhoids?
I have had hemorrhoids once before and used these wipe things with witch hazel. A couple of weeks ago I was really constipated and had a monster poop, I know I should eat fiber, drink a lot of water, etc. but there was nothing I could do at the time except get it out. So I got an external hemorrhoid and treated it with the witch hazel wipes and thought it went away but now I'm pretty sure it's back. I haven't checked yet but my butt's itchy, same symptoms. So, how should I treat it? thanks peeps, I really appreciate it.

    • ANSWER:
Preparation H and such products help largely by keeping the protrusion 'greased' and thus less aggravated by further movements. Even a simple ointment such as Vaseline, or antibiotic ointment such as Polysporin, performs the same function allowing the inflammation to settle. Be patient and don't aggravate the area!!!! It, too, shall pass!

  17. QUESTION:
how to get rid of threadworms without medication?
Any food etc i can take?
    Or does good hygiene work?

    • ANSWER:
Gavin, sorry but getting rid of threadworm (also called pinworm or Enterobius) is not likely to happen without medication. But, if you want to try....
Why should you be thinking about getting rid of pinworms? Because a pinworm infection is quite possibly the most disgusting thing you've ever heard of. Okay, so your child goes to school and somehow breathes in pinworm egg. Don't scoff, because pinworms are the most common worm infection in the United States. Then, anywhere from two to six weeks, those pinworms will mature and crawl out of your child's butt and lay eggs near their anus. It gets better! The pinworm eggs cause your child's butt to itch, so they scratch at it, and the pinworm eggs get everywhere: under your kid's nails, on your kid's clothes, on the bedding, and even in the dust that hangs around your home. Once this happens, your entire family and your kid's friends and classmates are almost guaranteed to get the same infection. Are you grossed out enough to take pinworms seriously now? Well, here are some things you should know if you want to get rid of pinworms and prevent a pinworm infection.

Pinworm TreatmentThe first step in getting rid of pinworms is getting tested for pinworms. There are two types of tests for pinworm infections: you either get the butt paddle, which is then examined under a microscope, or you get the butt tape, which is then examined under a microscope. But, this is important, because you shouldn't go on trying treat pinworms if you don't have them. A positive test is your first step to getting rid of pinworms. If you test negative you may just be suffering from hemorrhoids, which are probably more painful and itchy. Vermox is the most common prescription medicine used to get rid of pinworms. If you test positive for pinworms, chances are your doctor is going to give you a prescription for Vermox (otherwise known as mebendazole), the most common of all prescription drugs used to treat worm infections. Another prescription anti-worm drug is called Albenza. It may be wise to ask your doctor or pharmacist which is least expensive because both are equally effective.Reese's Pinworm Medicine is a very common and very effective OTC pinworm treatment. If prescription medications aren't your thing, or they're too expensive, or you don't have insurance, there are plenty of over-the-counter pinworm medications available that are just as effective as their prescription cousins. The important thing is to treat each member of the family with pinworm medicine to ensure there isn't an recurring infections caused by a second, third, or fourth family member. To make sure you get rid of pinworms, wash your bedding and clothing regularly during and after pinworm treatments. Pinworms are an extremely contagious worm infection. The eggs can lay dorman for up to 2 weeks if they're kept at room temperature, and you'll find them just about everywhere. This is why it's important to clean anything and everything the infected person has come into contact with, which includes mopping floors to avoid kicking up dust that may contain worm eggs--causing yet another worm infection. To avoid getting pinworms again, make sure to wash your hands regularly. Washing your hands and keeping them away from your butt and the butts of others is probably the most effective way to avoid getting a pinworm infection. Pinworm eggs aren't a particularly resilient worm egg, and any anti-bacterial soap will usually insure a worm-free existence. Remember to wash your hands after visiting public places like schools, gyms, and any large institutions.

  18. QUESTION:
I have a small red, slightly itchy/irritating bump near where I crap, what is this?
I just took a crap (lol, sorry best way I can put it) and I went to wipe and I noticed when I did, it sort of itched, and irritated me in some way. It isn't extremely painful or anything. I'm thinking it might be hemorrhoids, which WebMD says can be treated at home if it isn't serious with lots of water, fruits, and vegetables. Is this true? If not, please give me a good explanation.

    Also, I'm only 14, I wasn't really expecting it.

    • ANSWER:
      hemorrhoids yep
They pop out even more when you take a crap.

  19. QUESTION:
What are these medications for? -Vytorin, Amitriptyline, Loratadine, Analpram,?

    • ANSWER:
MedLine Plus and WebMD are both good websites for checking out information about medication; and your local pharmacist should be able to print out information about these medications as well.

Vytorin:This medication is a combination of two drugs, ezetimibe and simvastatin. It is used along with a proper diet to help lower bad cholesterol (LDL) and fats (triglycerides) in the blood while raising good cholesterol (HDL). This product is generally prescribed after non-drug treatment (e.g., diet change, increase in exercise, weight loss if overweight) has not been fully successful at lowering cholesterol. Reducing your cholesterol and fats help prevent strokes and heart attacks. Ezetimibe works by reducing the amount of cholesterol your body absorbs from your diet. Simvastatin is an enzyme blocker (HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor), also known as a "statin," which reduces the amount of cholesterol that your body makes normally each day.
Simvastatin is used in adults and children (10 years of age and older). Young girls must have had their menstrual periods for at least one year before starting this medication."

Loratadine: "Loratadine is used to temporarily relieve the symptoms of hay fever (allergy to pollen, dust, or other substances in the air) and other allergies. These symptoms include sneezing, runny nose, and itchy eyes, nose, or throat. Loratadine is also used to treat itching and redness caused by hives. However, loratadine does not prevent hives or other allergic skin reactions. Loratadine is in a class of medications called antihistamines. It works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms"

Analpram: "This combination medication is used to treat minor pain, itching, swelling, and discomfort caused by hemorrhoids and other problems of the anal area (e.g., anal fissures, itching). This medication contains pramoxine, an anesthetic that works by temporarily numbing the area. This product also contains hydrocortisone, a corticosteroid that reduces redness, itching, and swelling"

  20. QUESTION:
do i have an anal fissure? how do i treat it?
i checked and there are some cuts around my rectal opening, not indside the rectum, it's also really itchy. i've had it for like a month now, i try to let it heal but it's so itchy i just have to scratch
sorry that this is so gross.
if it is a fissure, how do i treat it?

    • ANSWER:
You need to see a doctor so they can give you an actual diagnosis. What you are describing sounds like symptoms of fissures, like the cuts at the opening and the itching.

I went to the doctors over a month ago after what I thought was hemorrhoids and fissures. Apparently and unfortunately, she thinks I have fissures, which I believe I've been suffering from since early April this year, because every time I have a bowel movement, I get a terrible sharp pains at the anal opening. My anus occasionally gets itchy as well.

From what my doctor said, she recommended that I drink lots of water (approximately 8 glasses) and just wash the area well and dry thoroughly. But even if you're embarrassed, you definately need to see a doctor about your problem. Unfortunately, I don't think mine have gotten any better, but hopefully they do..and soon!

My mum suffered from fissures and had to have surgery. I hope your problem clears up and it's nothing serious because the symptoms people get from anal fissures are horrific!

  21. QUESTION:
how do you get rid of eczema?
hey well i have had eczema for like 7 years and every winter my skin becomes more and more dry even after i put lotion this year i began to have bumps on my elbows and thighs and lower legs. well does any one know how to get rid of the bumps and eczema?

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Daisy

The issue is not the skin, but an internal issue with your immune system. Please read Diet. Testimonials at the bottom.

      Eczema

Very effective herbs that help the healing process.

      Best of health to you

      Cheers

  22. QUESTION:
my bottom is always itching? what can it be?
I know i have to go to the doctor for this, but i just wanted get a heads up to see if anybody knew. My bottom is constantly itchy but only right before when i need to use the restroom (the #2), when i scratch it i bleed, i know im not scratching too hard because i don't feel pain so is it from the inside? What can it be?

    • ANSWER:
Yep, sounds like pinworms. It really is a common thing even if you've never heard of it, and is easy to treat.
Or, i wonder if you have a hemorrhoid. Sometimes they can be inside so you don't feel them.
Or it could be a yeast infection. It's common to get them in that area because it's dark and moist. I know that sounds gross, but it's common. Bacteria likes to live and thrive when it has those conditions. If you've recently taken antibiotics, then that could be a side effect.
See a doctor just to make sure so that either way, you can feel better and not be bothered by it anymore!

  23. QUESTION:
    A horsey herbal medicine cabinet?
I'm planning on using part of my garden as a herb garden and I'm wondering what herbs are good for horse.

I want medicinal herbs - you know stuff for coughs and poultices etc. What should I plant?

    • ANSWER:
Plantain is my all time favorite herbal helper (after Rescue Remedy, but that is technically homeopathic!) Not the banana looking things, but the plant that grows around with very interesting veins in the leaves; they run longitudinally along the leaf.

I use it as a poultice, a drawing agent, it soothes itchies and is the very best at pulling heat from a leg or healing a puncture wound. You make a tea of it, cool it, and then apply it on a small towel when warm, soaking and wringing over and over. You treat at least once a day until healed. Sometimes just a day or two. (works great on pimples too!) I'll see if I can find a link to it. I usually find mine growing wild and pick it when I find it. It dries beautifully.

      add--http://www.ageless.co.za/herb-plantain.htm

      great for people and animals!

"Plantain is edible and medicinal, the young leaves are edible raw in salad or cooked as a pot herb, they are very rich in vitamin B1 and riboflavin. The herb has a long history of use as an alternative medicine dating back to ancient times. Being used as a panacea (medicinal for everything) in some cultures, one American Indian name for the plant translates to "life medicine." And recent research indicates that this name may not be far from true! The chemical analysis of Plantgo Major reveals the remarkable glycoside Aucubin. Acubin has been reported in the Journal Of Toxicology as a powerful anti-toxin. There are many more highly effective constituents in this plant including Ascorbic-acid, Apigenin, Baicalein, Benzoic-acid, Chlorogenic-acid, Citric-acid, Ferulic-acid, Oleanolic-acid, Salicylic-acid, and Ursolic-acid. The leaves and the seed are medicinal used as an antibacterial, antidote, astringent, antiinflammatory, antiseptic, antitussive, cardiac, demulcent, diuretic, expectorant, haemostatic, laxative, ophthalmic, poultice, refrigerant, and vermifuge. Medical evidence exists to confirm uses as an alternative medicine for asthma, emphysema, bladder problems, bronchitis, fever, hypertension, rheumatism and blood sugar control. A decoction of the roots is used in the treatment of a wide range of complaints including diarrhoea, dysentery, gastritis, peptic ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, haemorrhage, haemorrhoids, cystitis, bronchitis, catarrh, sinusitis, coughs, asthma and hay fever. It also causes a natural aversion to tobacco and is currently being used in stop smoking preparations. Extracts of the plant have antibacterial activity, it is a safe and effective treatment for bleeding, it quickly stops blood flow and encourages the repair of damaged tissue. The heated leaves are used as a wet dressing for wounds, skin inflammations, malignant ulcers, cuts, stings and swellings and said to promote healing without scars. Poultice of hot leaves is bound onto cuts and wounds to draw out thorns, splinters and inflammation. The root is said to be used as an anti-venom for rattlesnakes bites. Plantain seeds contain up to 30% mucilage which swells in the gut, acting as a bulk laxative and soothing irritated membranes. The seeds are used in the treatment of parasitic worms. A distilled water made from the plant makes an excellent eye lotion."

add---I finally found seeds!!! I went out and found some plants along the roadside; a little limp and faded in the winter, but still hanging in there. Finding seeds for this weed was really hard! http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/seeds/seeds.php

  24. QUESTION:
My anus has enlarged bumps around it?
I know its not a STD. it hurts when i squish my cheecks together....and i have been taking laxatives this week because i ate something bad. i have taken them a while back but nothing happened... What's wrong with me?

    • ANSWER:
It's a minor problem called hemorrhoids, brought on by the whatever you are treating with laxatives, and the laxatives themselves.
Buy Preparation H or similar product at the drug store.
Veins in the anal area have no valves, so pushing or irritation can cause them to get engorged with blood, which can be painful and itchy. They can even bleed sometimes; if they do, don't worry, it's basically harmless.
A soothing sit in the bath is good for them; an you might want to apply a cold pack for 5 minutes afterward to help shrink them.
As your bowels get back to normal, the veins should too.

  25. QUESTION:

  26. QUESTION:
embarrasing question. 34 weeks pregnant do i have a hemroid?
Ok so I am 34 weeks pregnant and I was a bit itchy a bit ago and so I took a mirror and looked and I have a whitish normal skin looking color of flesh hanging out. I'm really scared and feel like a freak. What is it?! It doesn't hurt or anything by the way.

    • ANSWER:
Sounds like hemorrhoids. I had/have them and during pregnancy they only flared up twice and got really uncomfortable but the rest of the time they don't hurt or anything.

Haemorrhoids can either be internal or external.

Internal haemorrhoids are found inside the rectum. These are usually painless but have a tendency to bleed.

External haemorrhoids feel like hard lumps. They are like small haemorrhages under the skin around the anus.

Some people also experience prolapsed haemorrhoids, which are a more painful form of internal haemorrhoids. Prolapsed haemorrhoids push through the anus and protrude from the body, usually after going to the toilet. Sometimes, these veins can hang out permanently due to the anal sphincter strangling them.

Haemorrhoids don’t pop up overnight, they develop slowly over time. They are common during pregnancy due to increased blood volume, increased pressure in the rectum/anus due to the weight of pregnancy and constipation. Hereditary factors also come into play. Sitting on hard surfaces for long stretches of time, heavy lifting as well as sitting or standing for long periods can also contribute to the development of haemorrhoids.

      BLOOD VOLUME
During pregnancy, your blood volume increases to such an amount that that you veins become dilated. The veins below the increasing weight of your uterus are more susceptible to becoming varicose (abnormally swollen or dilated) as your growing baby and uterus places increased pressure on them.

      CONSTIPATION
Constipation can result in haemorrhoids from straining, which can weaken the blood vessels and lead to haemorrhoids. Make sure you have a diet high in fibre, drink enough fluids and exercise regularly to prevent constipation – see your pharmacist for safe fibre preparations if you need.

If you notice any of the following, please consult your Obstetrician or doctor:

      * If symptoms do not improve or worsen after 7 days
      * A change in normal bowel habits for more than 7 days
      * A persistent pain in the abdomen or anal region

There are several things you can do to treat haemorrhoids using a combination of diet, natural remedies and over the counter preparations.

      NATURAL REMEDIES

      * Tissue salts, which you can get over the counter from your pharmacy or a health food store
      * Witchhazel which you can also purchase from your pharmacy, is used topically. You can apply it on a cotton ball to the affected area when going to bed. Leave the wet cotton ball on overnight and you will usually see great results in 2-3 days.
      * Phytopro by Metagenics you will need to see a naturopath for this one, but taking them around 2-3 times a day will usually result in haemorrhoids disappearing within 1-2 days.
      * Arnica – Make up a solution of one tablespoon of arnica tincture in one litre of cold water, apply topically twice per day, using a facewasher or other clean cloth.
      * Warm baths several times a day in warm water for 10 minutes or so.
      * Acupuncture for improving blood circulation

      TRY - 50g Shepherd’s Purse 30g Knotgrass
Prepare the herbs as a hot tea infusion and drink 3 cups per day.
Also to apply Swedish Bitters tincture directly onto the haemorrhoids twice daily.

      DIET
A diet high in fibre from vegetables, fruits and cereals will help with softer bowel movements that are easier to pass and will help keep you regular. Make sure you are drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day.

      MEDICAL TREATMENTS
Apart from diet and the other suggestions above, there are a number of other treatments for haemorrhoids (depending on the type), including:

      * Astringent ointments or suppositories to shrivel the haemorrhoids (available over the counter from your pharmacist, e.g. Proctosedyl)
      * Injections
      * Rubber band ligation
      * Surgery as a last resort

Chat to your GP about treatment options so that you have a treatment plan in place which is safe for you and your baby.

  27. QUESTION:
This is kinda embarresing to ask but i need answers...why does ky butthole itch all the time? ?
I always wash it with soap & water & keep it clean but it just itchy all the time & I hate it Cz it looks like I'm picking my butt all the time...any answers?

    • ANSWER:
If you get the feeling mostly at night then it's a classic sign of threadworms, an extremely common and highly transmissible parasite. If that's the case then there are over the counter treatments from pharmacies, but everyone in the household needs to be treated at the same time as some people have them without symptoms. All bed linen and towels should ideally be changed for freshly laundered ones as well at the same time.

If you have the itch most of the time, then you may have haemorrhoids, another very common affliction. They cause the skin around your anus to become congested with tissue fluid and so become extremely itchy.

See your doctor for an examination, it's not at all uncommon to have threadworms and haemorrhoids together.

There are other possible causes as well such as fungal infections such as thrush and ringworm, or you can even just have an itch, scratch, inflammation, more itching cycle often called pruritis which can be broken with mild topical moisturizing anaesthetic creams. The list is certainly not exhaustive and it's a symptom which family doctors deal with every day so please don't be embarrassed to raise the issue.

  28. QUESTION:
Should I scratch a itchy hemorrhoid or just let it go?

    • ANSWER:
You should treat it. How long has it been there? Have you used sitz baths and steroid suppositories? You should try to try it because if it gets worse, you don't want to have surgery. The recovery is really long and painful.

      Best of health to you

      Cheers

  30. QUESTION:
I have a litle ball on the side of my ass hole and i feal my asss wet and itchy what that coud be?

    • ANSWER:
That my friend is an hemorrhoid. It's swollen out, it should be on the inside but, due to irritation it popped out.
Number one: get some hemorrhoid suppositories and some preparation-H ointment, not creme but, ointment. Take a hot bath and soak, clean yourself real good. make sure your dry. Start using the preparation -H by putting some on a piece of toilet paper and rubbing it on the "lump" the lump is a blood vessel that's ruptured from intense constipation.

At night, treat it again after cleaning yourself. then put in a suppository, it isn't hard, once pushed in it'll get sucked in through muscle action. Then put on the ointment.

Star taking Metamucil or other fiber to get some roughage so you won't get constipated again. Make sure you stay clean.

If it gets worse like a lot of bleeding and won't stop, see your doctor.

  31. QUESTION:
is using witch hazel as a toner harsh?
is using witch hazel as a toner harsh because it has some alcohol?....will it be too harsh and drying for my kind-of dry and sensative skin?.....if i dilute it with some water will it still be harsh and drying for my kind-of-dry sensative skin?.....does it also help firm your skin?

    • ANSWER:
      Benefits of witch hazel:

The benefits of witch hazel are broad and varied. Witch hazel has traditionally been used for the treatment of wounds, itchy and dry skin and bleeding. It has also been used to treat inflamed eyes.

Though an awful lot of purported herbal remedies are of little value, there is no doubt that witch hazel is an effective natural pharmaceutical. It is one of the few natural remedies to have obtained US FDA approval for sale specifically for medicinal use.

Witch hazel does in fact, contain high levels of tannin, which is an astringent, hence it's long association as a skin treatment. The astringent properties of the plant, has seen an increase in the uses of the plant, which is now widely used in skin-care products, after-sun lotions and aftershaves. It also has uses as a haemorrhoid treatment and for treating varicose veins and inflamed gums.

Witch hazel is often used as a cleanser or toner, for facial care routines and has success as a toner in the treatment of acne and is particularly suited to oily and combination skin types.

The key ingredient in witch hazel is a tannin acid derivative called catechol tannin, When applied to wounds, cuts and abrasions, tannins constrict the tiny capillaries and below the skin surface.

Benefits of Witch hazel pimples and acne:

Another of the benefits of witch hazel is in helping to deal with acne and pimples.

While acne is often associated with teenage years, it does also affect some people, who keep having difficulties with acne well into adulthood. Blackheads and whiteheads are a result of action within the pores, the causes may be a little more complicated. Studies have blamed genetic predisposition, hormonal variations, and nutrition, as well as external factors, for causing this condition.

Wearing your hair back, washing your face gently, avoiding perspiration or rubbing your face can be of some assistance, but that is not always the answer. When the body is functioning properly it is more able to fend off bacteria and keep skin oil production under control. Witch hazel is recommended as a topical treatment.

So in addition to general treatment surrounding skin care, treatment also may be caused by underlying circumstances, including diet and overall treatment should be considered on more than one level.

Using witch hazel to disinfect the skin significantly reduces the presence of bacteria on the face. This reduction limits skin inflammation and the likelihood of a pimple developing.

  32. QUESTION:
    Do I have a hemorrhoid?
I think I have a hemorrhoid, but I've never had one before so I don't know. Not to get gross, but it hurts when I make a bowel movement, but only right as it is exiting. It's like a stinging sensation like there's a cut or something. My bowel movements have been drier and harder than usual- guess b/c I haven't had time to cook good meals, always eating on the go. Then when I wipe there is a small amount of bright red blood. Sometimes I'm a little itchy there too. There are no bumps or anything that I can see, so I guess it's on the inside. Will prep H cure this and how long will it take? I've had symptoms for about a week now and just started using prep H yesterday.

    • ANSWER:
      Did you know...

Hemorrhoids are one of the most common ailments known.
More than half the population will develop hemorrhoids, usually after age 30.
Millions of Americans currently suffer from hemorrhoids.
The average person suffers in silence for a long period before seeking medical care.
Today's treatment methods make some types of hemorrhoid removal much less painful.
      What are hemorrhoids?
Often described as "varicose veins of the anus and rectum", hemorrhoids are enlarged, bulging blood vessels in and about the anus and lower rectum. There are two types of
hemorrhoids: external and internal, which refer to their location.
External (outside) hemorrhoids develop near the anus and are covered by very sensitive skin. If a blood clot develops in one of them, a painful swelling may occur. The external hemorrhoid feels like a hard, sensitive lump. It bleeds only if it ruptures.
Internal (inside) hemorrhoids develop within the anus beneath the lining. Painless bleeding and protrusion during bowel movements are the most common symptom. However, an internal hemorrhoid can cause severe pain if it is completely "prolapsed" - protrudes from the anal opening and cannot be pushed back inside.

      What causes hemorrhoids?
An exact cause is unknown; however, the upright posture of humans alone forces a great deal of pressure on the rectal veins, which sometimes causes them to bulge. Other contributing factors include:

      Aging
      Chronic constipation or diarrhea
      Pregnancy
      Heredity
Faulty bowel function due to overuse of laxatives or enemas; straining during bowel movements
Spending long periods of time (e.g., reading) on the toilet
Whatever the cause, the tissues supporting the veins stretch. As a result, the veins dilate; their walls become thin and bleed. If the stretching and pressure continue, the weakened veins protrude.

      What are the symptoms?
If you notice any of the following, you could have hemorrhoids:

      Bleeding during bowel movements
      Protrusion during bowel movements
      itching in the anal area
      Pain
      Sensitive lump(s)
      Do hemorrhoids lead to cancer?
No. There is no relationship between hemorrhoids and cancer. However, the symptoms of hemorrhoids, particularly bleeding, are similar to those of colorectal cancer and other diseases of the digestive system. Therefore, it is important that all symptom are investigated by a physician specially trained in treating diseases of the colon and rectum. Do not rely on over-the-counter medications or other self-treatments. See a colorectal surgeon first so your symptoms can be properly evaluated and effective treatment prescribed.

      How are hemorrhoids treated?
Mild symptoms can be relieved frequently by increasing the amount of fiber (e.g., fruits, vegetables, breads and cereals) and fluids in the diet. Eliminating excessive straining reduces the pressure on hemorrhoids and helps prevent them from protruding. A sitz bath - sitting in plain warm water for about 10 minutes - can also provide some relief
With these measures, the pain and swelling of most symptomatic hemorrhoids will decrease in two to seven days, and the firm lump should recede within four to six weeks. In cases of severe, persistent pain, your physician may elect to remove the hemorrhoid containing the clot with a small incision. Performed under local anesthesia as an outpatient, this procedure generally provides relief.
Severe hemorrhoids may require special treatment, much of which can be performed on an outpatient basis.

Ligation - the rubber band treatment - works effectively on internal hemorrhoids that protrude with bowel movements. A small rubber band is placed over the hemorrhoid, cutting off its blood supply. The hemorrhoid and the band fall off in a few days and the wound usually heals in a week or two. This procedure sometimes produces mild discomfort and bleeding.
Injection and Coagulation can also be used on bleeding hemorrhoids that do not protrude. Both methods are relatively painless and cause the hemorrhoid to shrivel up.
Hemorrhoidectomy - surgery to remove the hemorrhoids - is the best method for the permanent removal of hemorrhoids. It is necessary when (1) clots repeatedly form in external hemorrhoids; (2) ligation fails to treat internal hemorrhoids; (3) the protruding hemorrhoid cannot be reduced; or (4) there is persistent bleeding. A hemorrhoidectomy removes excessive tissue that causes the bleeding and protrusion. It is done under anesthesia any may, depending upon circumstances, require hospitalization and a period of inactivity. Laser hemorrhoidectomies do not offer any advantage over standard operative techniques. They are also quite expensive, and contrary to popular belief, are no less painful.
Other treatments include cryotherapy, BICAP coagulation and direct current. Cryotherapy, popular 20 years ago, consists of freezing hemorrhoidal tissue. It is not recommended for hemorrhoids because it is very painful. BICAP and direct current are methods that shrink the hemorrhoid. None of these t reatments have gained widespread acceptance.
Rubber Band Ligation of Internal Hemorrhoids:

      Bulging, bleeding, internal hemorrhoid
Rubber band applied at the base of the hemorrhoid
About 7 days later, the banded hemorrhoid has fallen off leaving a small scar at its base (arrow)

  33. QUESTION:
What is witch hazel good for?

    • ANSWER:
i have witch hazel and i use it every night (:
when you have a shower and wash your face your pores have been ripped open and before you know it you get out of the shower and dirt and dust flying ijn the air will get into them and cause blackheads to form.
The Big One: Spot and Blemish Control.
Witch hazel can reduce the inflammation on a pimple. Some people claim daily use helps with acne, and witch hazel can be found in many Over The Counter treatments. Application with a Witch Stick is the most convenient, but you can dab it on with a cotton ball. Ask your pharmacist before you do this though.

      2. Soothe and Heal Diaper Rash
If your baby's rash isn't healing quick enough, apply witch hazel solution (Dickinson’s Is good) with a cotton ball and you should see immediate improvement to your baby's bottom.

      3. Shrink Bags Under The Eyes
Some people say that the application of Hemorrhoid cream to those little baggies under your eyes can take them away. It’s not an old wives tale. One of the magic ingredients in a product like Preparation H is witch hazel, which helps tighten up the skin and reduce the bagginess. And that leads nicely to…

      4. Soothe and Reduce External Hemorrhoids
Not only does witch hazel tighten skin, it’s also a good anti-itch remedy. By combining witch hazel with aloe, glycerine or petroleum jelly and rub it on external hemorrhoids, you will reduce itching significantly and dry up most bleeding.

      5. Varicose Vein Relief
Soak wash cloths in witch hazel and lay on legs, which are propped straight out, to reduce pain and swelling from varicose veins. The witch hazel helps to tighten the veins, relieving the discomfort temporarily

      6. Soothe Poison Ivy and Poison Oak
Just like acne and blemishes, the witch hazel reduces itching and relieves swelling. Something definitely worth packing on your next camping trip.

      7. Treat Chicken Pox Blisters
A combination of aloe, honey, lavender and other essential oils create a spray that will vastly reduce the discomfort of Chicken Pox blisters. And it’s all-natural. Here’s what to do:

Mix together 1 tablespoon honey, 40 drops lavender essential oil, 15 drops lemon essential oil, 15 drops bergamot essential oil, 5 drops peppermint essential oil, 1 teaspoon carrot seed oil and 1/2 cup aloe vera gel.

Once completely mixed, and 1/2 cup distilled witch hazel and mix again. Pour mixture into spray bottle and use on affected areas (avoiding eyes). A more potent and less unsightly way to treat the Chicken Pox than traditional Calamine lotion.

      8. Heal Your Bruises Faster
Been in a fight recently? Well, maybe not. But if you bang your leg or arm and are left with a nasty bruise, a thrice-daily dab of witch hazel can help speed up the healing time of the bruise.

      9. Soothe Razor Burn (and in some instances, prevent it)
The anti-inflammatory properties of witch hazel stop itchy bumps from forming up around your irritated hair follicles. Apply before or after shaving, it should certainly have an impact on your itchy red skin (and that includes ladies, too).

      10. Treat and Soothe A Nasty Sunburn
Healing damaged skin is one of witch hazel’s specialties. But as sunburn is also a type of skin inflammation, witch hazel is ideal for treating this too (despite swelling not being obvious). Treating sunburn with witch hazel will lessen healing time and prevent the infamous skin peeling and flaking.

      11. Treat Dry Skin
Especially useful after showering, witch hazel can lock in the moisture in your skin. By applying witch hazel immediately after showering, you are locking in the moisture that has just soaked into your skin.

      12. Use to Heal and Soothe Various Cuts and Bruises
Many chemists and pharmacists refer to witch hazel as nature’s answer to Neosporin. Applying a dab of it will cleanse the cut, protects against infection, and encourage quicker healing of minor skin breaks.

      13. Take The Bite Out Of Bug Bites
With it’s anti-itch and anti-inflammatory properties, witch hazel is ideal for treating bug bites. Just dab a little on the affected area.

      14. Refresh Tired Eyes
NOT by squirting witch hazel in them, but by soaking a clean rag in witch hazel and cold water and placing the cold compress over your closed eyes. After 10 minutes, your eyes should be refreshed, and any redness should be gone. If you’ve been doing a lot of crying, this can get you back to normal quickly.

      15. Make Your Own Deodorant
Witch hazel is often used in deodorants due to it’s natural skin-healing and skin-care properties. Here is a home-made recipe you may want to try.

      Ingredients:
      1 tsp high proof vodka
      10 drops geranium
      10 drops cypress
      8 drops bergamot
      5 drops neroli
      4 drops lavender

  36. QUESTION:
What Could i use to cure eczema?

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Johnny

Here are some ideas to heal yourself.

Within just a matter of days, the baby began to improve, and after a week or two, the eczema disappeared completely, though the child had suffered with it so many months.

      Best of heath to you

  37. QUESTION:
Could I have a yeast infection?
I think I may have a yeast infection. I've had a somewhat itchy vagina for a week or so now I guess. I originally thought I had hemorrhoids, but now my vagina is a little itchier. I also have some discharge, but there is no foul smell. I also get a tiny bit of discomfort if my boyfriend fingers me.

I went to my ob/gyn in August and I had a full std screen -- all clear. I also haven't put myself in a situation that would put me at risk for std's. My boyfriend is std-free and we haven't yet progressed to sex or anything like that because the relationship is relatively new, but condoms will definitely be used if/when that happens.

I had a yeast infection earlier this year (July) after being on antibiotics for strep throat. I also had ankle surgery on Monday and I know I had plenty of antibiotics for that, which I'm sure isn't helping my situation. I swim regularly and I always change out of my bathing suit immediately, but I'm wondering if putting on sweatpants or yoga pants after my shower may be causing the problem. Or even the chlorine in the pool too.

Does this sound like a yeast infection? I plan on calling my doctor tomorrow, and he'll probably prescribe Diflucan. Thanks for the help!

    • ANSWER:
It does sound like a yeast infection, though I would consult your doctor just to be sure. Since you've had a yeast infection before, you probably already have a good idea of what to expect, but it's always a good idea to check with your doctor to make sure you're treating yourself correctly. Antibiotics can play havoc on your body's natural yeast, and recovering from illnesses, or in your case, surgery, can lower your immunity, making you more susceptible to yeast infections. Especially with the addition of antibiotics, which aren't particular about the bacteria it kills--both the bad and the good--which can be a bad thing since good bacteria helps to keep your body's natural yeast in balance.

Changing out of your swimsuit immediately after swimming is a smart move. The chlorine in the pool can cause or exacerbate a yeast infection, because it effects the pH levels of your vagina. The synthetic fabric that swimsuits are made of doesn't help, nor does the fact that you're obviously going to be wet in the pool, and yeast thrives in warm, wet environments. When you talk to your doctor, let him know that you are a swimmer. He may suggest taking a break, at least until the yeast infection clears up. When you get out of the shower, pat your "lady bits" dry (don't rub), and wear panties with a cotton crotch. Cotton allows the area to breathe, keeping it drier and a less hospitable environment. Or you may want to consider skipping panties altogether if you can and wear a nightgown/long shirt. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

  38. QUESTION:
i had a vaginal delivery nd i had an episiotomy?
now 3 months later i have painful bowel movements what could it be i mean i get a little bit of blood on my stool but nothing major could it be internal hemorrhoids or could it be anal fissure if its internal how can i fix it or if its anal fissure what can i do im scared n worried i pray to God its nothing bad first time mommy

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Viviana,
There are two types of hemorrhoids - internal and external.
Internal hemorrhoids occur inside the anus. The swollen blood vessels remain inside your anus and do not usually cause pain. The size of internal hemorrhoids are classified using a grading system from 1 to 4.
Grade 1- hemorrhoids are often small swellings inside the lining of your anus. They cannot be seen and are very common. In some cases they will enlarge to grade 2 hemorrhoids.
Grade 2- hemorrhoids are larger in size but are still within your anus. In some instances they become pushed out when you pass a stool, but will return inside immediately after.
Grade 3- hemorrhoids appear outside your anus. These are also referred to as prolapsed hemorrhoids. Grade 3 hemorrhoids protrude outside your anus and often decrease in size naturally. In most cases these hemorrhoids can be pushed back inside the anus with your fingers.
Grade 4- hemorrhoids remain outside your anus permanently. They cannot be pushed back inside and will need to be treated by your doctor.

External hemorrhoids occur outside your anus. They are also known as perianal hematoma.

You may feel a small lump outside your anus that becomes increasingly itchy. This type of haemorrhoid is less common and will require immediate treatment.

It is possible to have both internal and external hemorrhoids at the same time, but this is rare.

In most cases the symptoms go away in a few days if you adjust your diet properly.

They can probably last for a lifetime if you do nothing about it.

  39. QUESTION:
    what causes and itchy anus?
what could be a couse of a person to have an itchy anus and how cant it be healed or treated? same with a pet? (dog)

    • ANSWER:
Seriously: these things cause the itch:

      not cleaning properly after #2
sweat - it gets worse during the summer
bacteria - it could be a sign of vaginitis
      or - a yeast infection
      or - swollen hemorrhoid tissues
      or - pinworms
      or - allergies

One thing that helps as far as cleaning properly, you can use Cottonelle moist wipes (in the toilet paper aisle). I recommend that brand over any other. I've used them since 1989. Great value and never disappoints! (Yes, I've tried the others. They aren't as big or as thick and they aren't quilted, either.)

Sweat and heat can cause infections, so if the remedies I suggest here don't work, you'll need to be tested for a vaginal infection. (There is an over the counter test in the section with Monistat - made by Monistat, actually.) Summertime is "in" season for bacterial vaginosis.

Heat and sweat can be kept at bay somewhat. Sleep without undies. The sweat won't be kept close to your skin by panties, and that gives the area a chance to calm down. Also, try to find nylon panties with nylon at the crotch. Cotton absorbs the sweat and keeps it next to your skin while nylon wicks it away. Wear skirts when possible. Be careful of stairs if you go commando, though.

You can try using Witch Hazel solution, usually near the Rubbing Alcohol, to swab your irritated parts. It's a great topical for itches and scrapes. TUCKS medicated pads are made with Witch Hazel, but it's easier for me to just put some on a Cottonelle wipe than to worry about the TUCKS pads drying out over time. The Witch Hazel helps shrink swollen hemorrhoid tissues, so it's a good 2-in-1 product to have around. It may burn at first, but it will not last for long and will actually help in the long run.

Some allergies can cause itching down there. If you use perfumed detergents, liquid fabric softener, scented dryer sheets or colored bath tissue, it can cause itching for those who are sensitive. I always buy white everything and avoid fragrances, and that helps a lot. Menstrual napkins are also an allergy issue for some. If it's a problem for you, try to avoid the ones with blue absorbent areas. The dye is enough to cause problems. Avoid tampons when possible and never buy the "deodorant" types of products, as they can also be a problem. (I also avoid FDS - Feminine Deodorant Spray - it's like asking for trouble.)

If the itching gets horrible at night time, and you are having most of your itchiness at bedtime, then it's likely pinworms. You don't have to have bad hygiene to get them, either. Kids are notorious for not washing their hands well, and they can get the eggs on their fingers when they scratch (I know, gross). Also, the eggs can wind up on a public toilet seat. So, if you have the worst itching at bedtime, - and I mean unbearable itching - then you'll need to see a doctor. (Especially if you've tried everything else and nothing has helped.)

Dogs can get the itch from similar causes. Heat, of course, especially in the summertime, can cause really bad itching. But, the likely cause for most dogs is worms. Any dog who drags his butt across the floor to relieve itching needs to see a vet. Hopefully, the matter will be easy to solve, and your vet should tell you how to prevent problems in the future.

      Hope you feel better soon!

I've just discovered that I have hemorrhoids. I'm only 16 years old.
Can the be treated or I will have to live with them for the rest of my life?
    If yes, how?

    • ANSWER:
depends if internal or external, bleeding or not, aggravated by lifting/straining and constipation. or if just prep H, supp, gel or cream works for you . they can be removed surgically, it can be quite painful. usually they are itchy, so, witch hazel helps. just buy some large circular/square cosmetic pads and use witch hazel or buy Tucks to use after wiping the area. general surgeons treat these.

  42. QUESTION:
    Do i have hemorrhoids?
I am constipated and when i went to the toilet i could feel little bumps around my anus. They aren't painful or itchy and i think i've had them a while. I have not been able to go to the toilet today even though i feel the need to. Do i have them?? If so what can i do to treat or ease it? btw i'm a 15 year old girl with normal height and weight.
    please answer, need some info!!!

    • ANSWER:
      Hi,
It doesn't sound like hemorrhoids to me but it is always wise to seek professional medical advice before starting any treatments.

Try a healthy diet, fruit & veg, drink lots of water, exercise and reduce stress levels. That should help.

Chronic constipation is one reason one can get hemorrhoids. When you have a back up in stool it not only puts pressure on the rectum to make swelling occur, it also makes it very difficult to eliminate. This difficulty also causes strain. The lining of the swollen veins can begin to leak and tear, which causes the nasty symptoms of pain, itching, and burning.

Hope that this has helped you a little.

  43. QUESTION:

im sorry if you think im joking but im not and im a girl so its okay, and is it hemroids? not sure.

    thanks

    • ANSWER:
Well, it could be hemorrhoids, there are usually a few spots of inflammation (note the plural name, not singular) They don't always cause bleeding, but can. But they are painful and itchy and can get inflamed. Here's info about them and how to treat. they would cause pain, where the cysts might not. Hemorrhoids can come from straining, constipation or pressure.
      http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/hemorrhoids-topic-overview

It could be a cyst, or it could be a pilonidal cyst and, which would have to be drained through a medical procedure. Here's a link with a picture and information. Personally, I'd wait a week and see if it doesn't just go away, but if it gets larger or more painful, then off to the doctor. Don't let it go too long because that would make it really awful to deal with. http://www.emedicinehealth.com/pilonidal_cyst/article_em.htm

Agreed, this topic is tough to talk about, but check and see if this description fits and if it does

Know any way(s) to treat eczema? Of subdue it? Or at least something to control or helpt it?
i have had eczema since i could remember-
I think I was born with it

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Miss S

It is an internal issue with toxins in the blood, so be sure to do a colon and liver cleanse to cleanse your system. Here are some ideas to use.

      Cause
1.Cleansing the Skin: The skin is a very important part of the body; it is an "extra kidney," an extra set of lungs for breathing, and has many other functions. We should keep it in a good condition, important as it is, but we usually treat it shamefully. Cleanliness of the skin should be bathed daily.

      Best of health to you

      Cheers

  45. QUESTION:
    Do I have poison ivy?
I have a lot of itchy bumps that are red and seem to be spreading I have been in contact with poison ivy do I have it and if so any home remedies

    • ANSWER:
The best treatment is to do nothing to the area. Wash it, treat it a Corticosteroid skin cream or ointments that may reduce inflammation (hemorrhoid cream for example). Put a bag of frozen peas on the area to reduce itching and inflammation.

  46. QUESTION:
will you be in pain if you have bleeding hemorrhoids?

    • ANSWER:
      Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids, or piles, are one of mankind's most common and nagging disorders. By themselves, hemorrhoids are rarely serious. But they can be extremely troublesome. In some instances. They may mask a more serious disorder, such as colon or rectal cancer. Therefore, hemorrhoids require the proper diagnosis and treatment by a physician.

Hemorrhoids are dilated (enlarged) veins which occur in and around the anus and rectum. They may be external (outside the anus) or internal and slip to the outside. In both of these instances, the hemorrhoids can be felt and seen as lumps or knots. Hemorrhoids also may remain inside the rectum and so cannot be felt or seen. These are called internal hemorrhoids.

      What Causes Hemorrhoids?
A common cause of hemorrhoids is simply the standing position, in which all the blood above the rectum exerts pressure on the rectal and anal areas. Other conditions which contribute to hemorrhoids are: poor bowel habits, constipation, diarrhea, pregnancy, obesity, and especially frequent straining when having a bowel movement. However, some patients will have none of these conditions and still develop hemorrhoids.

      What Are the Complications?
Hemorrhoids can produce several uncomfortable, but non-serious problems.

Thrombosis and pain -- A blood clot in the hemorrhoid may cause severe pain and usually demands immediate medical attention.

Bleeding -- Hemorrhoids can ooze fresh red blood, whether located externally or internally. External hemorrhoids often cause dripping of blood from the anus while sitting on the toilet. The blood might also be seen as soiling of the underwear. Internal hemorrhoids that bleed may produce fresh blood in the stool.

Itching and irritation -- External hemorrhoids can be itchy, especially if the area is moist and irritated.

      Do Hemorrhoids Cause Cancer?
Hemorrhoids do not develop into cancer. However, both hemorrhoids and cancer can cause rectal bleeding. In fact, many disorders can be the cause of rectal bleeding. When rectal bleeding occurs in persons over age 30, and especially in those over age 50, it should be considered a serious problem until an exact diagnosis is made. The physician who directly examines the rectal area can often make the specific diagnosis

      Conservative Treatment

      1) Keep the anal area clean, using a mild soap and gentle dabbing after a bowel movement. Avoid vigorous rubbing of the area.

      2) Keep the anus and hemorrhoids as dry as possible, using talcum powder and a pad of soft tissue to absorb moisture.

      3) Eat a diet high in fiber (bran) and roughage. Fiber and bran retain water in the stool, producing soft, bulky stools which are easier to pass and reduce the tendency to develop hemorrhoids. Bulking agents, such as Metamucil, Konsyl, Citrucel, and Fibercon, are available in drug stores. These also come in less expensive generic versions.

4)Avoid straining when having a bowel movement.

5)When thrombosis, pain, and tenderness occur, a 10 to 20 minute hot tub bath two to four times daily brings heat to the area, provides relief from the pain, and promotes healing. This is called a hot Sitz bath

      Surgery

Surgery is sometimes recommended in treating hemorrhoids. It usually is reserved for:
      1) Acute, painful clot (thrombosis) of hemorrhoids
      2) Profusely or continuously bleeding hemorrhoids
      3) Longstanding, irreversible, and large hemorrhoids
      4) When other treatment is unsuccessful

I had to have this operation , called hemorrhoidectomy for painful , thrombosed bleeding hemorrhoids.

  47. QUESTION:
    annoying Hemorrhoid help?
Ok so I have a hemorrhoid. I have known about it for maybe 2 or 3 weeks now. Has not gotten better. I have been using Tucks ointment and baby wipes.
It never hurt or itched in the first place though.
It is an outside bump so I figured it was external.
It doesn't hurt. Sometimes It will itch if im dry but on a regular basis, no.
How do I get it to go away? the bump is roughly the size of a pointer finger nail.
    Any help?

    • ANSWER:
I have had hemorrhoids for years and they are really itchy too. The best way to treat them i have recently found was using Hemorrhoidal Suppositories. They are the best thing ever invented!

This has been my nightly routine which has been working great.
Shower before you go to bed, air dry your bum on cool with a hair dryer or just make sure you dry you bum very well with a towel even blot afterwards with a tissue and then use the Hemorrhoidal Suppositories. That's it!!!
If you don't have time to do the above just use the hemorrhoidal suppositories on their own
During the day if you still feel inflamed use some witch hazel wipes they help a bit too but after 3-4 days you should see good results from the Hemorrhoidal Suppositories.
      Good luck!

  48. QUESTION:
Could it be something i ate or?
ok so basicly i thought i had pinworms but my but isnt itchy? so maybe it was something i ate? or maybe i am in denial?
my bad this was supposed to be in general healthcare :(

    • ANSWER:
      Hi Knk,

Thank you for asking this question. Many people would not ask a question like this but will continue to suffer the pain/itch.

Most often itchy butts / rear ends / rectal areas are due to pin worms. You may read about the signs and symptoms of pinworm infections at the link I have posted below.

Itches in rectums are also due to hemorrhoids, minor trauma, unclean rectums.

Some foods like chillis will also cause itchy/hot rectal ares.

Food allergies do NOT cause itchy rectums because by the time the food reaches the rectum most of the allergens have been altered by the digestive tract.

I hope I have answered your question.

  49. QUESTION:
    My bum is really itchy?
Hi sorry if this is vulgar but my bum is really itching me and I don't know why!

My bum really hurts when I wipe it with tissue so I just flush the toilet and let the water splash up on my bottom to clean it, and recently its started to get itchy so I have to scratch it!

    Will I get worms?

    Thanks

    • ANSWER:
This could be worms, hemorrhoids or anal fissure.

You can check for worms but its not pretty. Its easier to treat yourself for worms and see if that helps, you can get Vermox or similar at the pharmacy.

If that doesn't work, see a Dr and get checked for hemorrhoids or anal fissure.

  50. QUESTION:
    Does this sound like hemorrhoids?
After a bowel movement, there seems to be inflammation around the anal opening. Sometimes I get small streaks of bright red blood on toilet paper, other times I don't. The area stays itchy and irritated for a few hours afterwords. Then when the inflammation goes down, it feels perfectly normal.

When I described the situation to my doctor he said it is likely hemorrhoids. I was just curious if anyone else had similar symptoms.

    • ANSWER:
That is most likely hemorrhoids. I did some research back then for hemorrhoids when my wife had it and i suggest you this site http://www.bestnaturalhemorrhoidstreatment.com/ which has quite alot of info about hemorrhoids.

I purchased one of their recommended products which was h miracle which treats hemorrhoids the natural way and that is why i bought it. I recommended h miracle due to my wife's good experience with it. She says that her hemorrhoid was not a problem for her anymore after applying the techniques thought. Give it a try and i hope that you'll have the same good experience as my wife.
