I have a prolapsed hemorrhoid and unfortunately it has ruptured. The bleeding has slowed down dramatically, but it is still bleeding. How long do they bleed for or how long can they bleed for? What is the best way to stop the bleeding?

  2. QUESTION:
    Bleeding hemorrhoid - Fun times!?
About two years ago, I developed my first known hemorrhoid condition. After adjusting my diet and adhering to other remedies the hemorrhoid disappeared. Everything has been relatively normal since then. However, about a week ago my hemorrhoid condition came back. This time the hemorrhoid is a bit more pronounced and it appears it has ruptured since there has been some moderate bleeding. I've done a bit of research online and it appears many take care of the problem with home remedies. I'm hoping to do so as well by using witch hazel and a number of other suggestions. I'm prepared to see a doctor, but prefer to handle this on my own. Here's my questions:

    1. On average, how long does it take before the bleeding stops?
    2. What action has proven to be most effective to stop the bleeding?
    3. Can I exercise while it's in the bleeding condition or should I be resting as much as possible?

    • ANSWER:
Apparently, it's very common. No worries.

      1. Usually a few days of "spot" bleeding and then you're done.

      2. Tucks

      3. Yes

  3. QUESTION:
    Bleeding Hemorrhoid?
I am a 29 year old female... I have had internal & external hemorrhoids for about 10 years now. I got them when I was pregnant with my first child. They never really give me a problem, they are just there. Sometimes they bleed a bit but this time there seems to be more blood and my hemorrhoids inside feel a bit irritated. This only happens when I go to have a bowel movement. This has been happening for the past couple days now. The blood is bright red not dark which leaves me to believe I may have ruptured or tore one of them and that it isn't anything serious. Can anyone please give me some peace of mind with this. Everyone is telling me to go to the hospital cause it could be something more serious but I honestly think it's a bleeding hemorroid. I know I should probably have it checked regardless but I just want to know if this is normal for someone with hemorrhoids.
Just got home from the hospital and I have a tear... it isn't anything serious... thanks for your answers :)

    • ANSWER:
A fissure (tear) usually heals by itself, however, if there is no improvement in 2-3 days I suggest you buy Rue Care Oil. It is equally successful for treating of fissure as well as hemorrhoids.

  4. QUESTION:
How do you stop anal bleeding?
I had a hemorrhoid rupture when I defecated earlier, and it is continue to bleed. How can I stop the bleeding?
I'm not worried...It's just getting blood on my underwear and it's uncomfortable.

    • ANSWER:
It will stop on it's own. But I would advise you to go to the doctor to be evaluated. If it was large enough to present a problem with bleeding to the point you wonder how to stop it, you may need treatment.

  5. QUESTION:
Why am I hurting so bad and bleeding when I go #2?
I just had a baby 2 weeks ago and was constipated for about a week. I finally went #2 but when it passed it hurt a little, and there was a little blood, now everytime I go #2 it hurts really bad and I bleed even more. I dont know if its because I ruptured something the first time I went #2 or if its a hemorrhoid, before I left the hospital they checked me for hemorroids and I didnt have any. Please any advice, Im really worried.

    • ANSWER:
I was the same way after having my 1st baby. It hurt so bad that I dreaded knowing that it was time to go to the restroom!! Did you happen to tear, or be cut during your delivery. I tore a bit and that is why I think I had the problem. After my 2nd baby, I didn't tear or anything and I didn't seem to have any trouble. it was completely different. Try taking some stool softners. They seemed to help me a lot. It wouldn't hurt to call your Dr. office. They should have a nurse that you can talk to on the phone.
